Innovation in composites manufacturing and composite mould making

We focus on developing and applying innovative engineering design and manufacturing solutions that enable our customers to enjoy significant benefits over ‘traditional’ technologies.

It is clear that some of the traditional technologies used in composites manufacturing and mould production in particular create a number of ‘problems’ within the production process that require additional processing or labour resources or both before the final product can be manufactured to the required finish:

• Laminating sheets of tooling and modelling board together can be both labour intensive and wasteful in terms of time and materials.
• It can also create problems with differential expansion giving you mould surface defects.

 

 

 

Based upon our extensive knowledge of working with polyurethane, we have developed Manu-Cast as an innovative solution to these problems.

Manu-Cast is a seamlessly cast product, custom designed to give a high quality solution. By casting the material directly into a bespoke cavity, we can create a seamless block which previously would have been made by laminating boards together. This process has the following key advantages:

• It substantially reduces material wastage
• It substantially reduces machining time
• Resulting in significant cost savings.

We have created further innovation in both process and materials use to develop complimentary solutions Manu-Cast:

• Manu-Paste – a seamless paste system which uses a pre-shaped polystyrene pattern to further reduce resin waste and manufacturing time.
• Manu-Cast Expoxy – a mass-cast pre-preg solution.
